My Dear Parishioners,
As you are well aware our country and our world is in desperate need of prayer. In response to this, the Lord has put on my heart the following short term “prayer plan”. I am asking everyone to participate in this plan. Prayer is powerful. We don’t always see the immediate effects of it, but we know the Lord is using it for our good and the good of the whole world. Please say yes to the following three devotions. Thank you so much ~ Fr. David
1. Novena to St. Michael the Archangel: This nine day novena will be comprised of praying the chaplet of St. Michael each day beginning on Sunday, September 20th until his feast day on Tuesday, September 29th. The prayers are attached to this bulletin on a separate sheet.
2. 33 Day Consecration to St. Joseph: After the Blessed Mother, St. Joseph is the most powerful intercessor in Heaven. He is the Protector of the Church and the Terror of demons. Along with the Blessed Mother, we need his intercession more than ever. Please consider consecrating yourself to him after 33 days of preparation. The preparation consists in reading a short reflection each day for 33 days from the book, “Consecration to St. Joseph” by Fr. Donald Calloway. Your free copy is available in the narthex. The preparation begins on Wednesday, September 30th and we will consecrate ourselves to St. Joseph on All Saints Day, November 1st, which will bring our Year of the Saints to a close.
3. October Rosary: Each year I invite people to embrace the “October challenge”. Please pray the rosary each day of October for all the graces that our country and world needs.
