Remember Advent is like a mini Lent. It is a penitential season which is why the priest wears purple and we light purple advent candles. So like Lent, I invite you to look upon Advent as an opportunity for personal growth and conversion. To help facilitate this please consider enhancing you prayer life in some concrete way, as well as performing acts of selfdenial and works of charity towards those in need. When Christmas arrives we will be able to present these gifts to Jesus, giving both Him and ourselves interior joy ~ Fr. David
Fr. David is in need of people to reach out to those who are homebound and afraid to leave their homes due to COVID-19. This would consist in visits and/or offering communion to them in their homes. If you are interested please let Fr. David know and he will prepare and train you. Thank you so much.
The Flocknote program allows Fr. David to send mass texts to all our parishioners with important information, messages, announcements and updates. This is especially important during the pandemic. Fr. David relies on this mode of communication quite frequently. Participation is absolutely free. To participate all you have to do is text this message: “3Trinity” to this number: “84576” and you will begin receiving the texts.
Since the month of November is dedicated to praying for the souls in Purgatory, please consider saying the prayer of St. Gertrude the Great as often as you can. Our Lord showed St. Gertrude a vast number of souls leaving Purgatory and going to heaven as a result of this prayer which the Saint was accustomed to saying frequently during the day. “Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most Precious Blood of Jesus, with all the Masses being said all over the world this day, for the souls in Purgatory.”
It’s time for R.C.I.A. classes to begin and will be held at Immaculate Conception every Sunday directly after 9am Mass for approximately one hour. These classes are for adults who are considering becoming Catholic, for adult Catholics who have never been confirmed or for anyone who just wants to learn more about the Catholic Faith. If you are interested in attending the classes, please put your name on the sign-up sheet located in the narthex.
Friends, we thank all who contributed so generously to the Piarist Christmas Gift Collection. We were able to collect $2,470! Such a generous spirit all of you have!!
