During this Year of the Rosary, please try to pray the rosary every day, even more than once each day if possible. If a whole rosary is too much, don’t let a day pass from at least offering one decade to God. The rosary is a beautiful meditation on the life of Jesus through the powerful intercession of our Blessed Mother. Prayed from the heart it is an
efficacious means of transformation for ourselves, for others and for the world.
Last year on December 8, 2020, the Universal Church began a “Year of St. Joseph.” That special “Year of St. Joseph” will soon be coming to a close on December 8, 2021. I would like you to consider praying a novena to St. Joseph the last nine days leading up to December 8th for the purification and protection of the Catholic Church. The novena prayer can be found on the back of the St. Joseph holy card that is available in the narthex of the Church. ~ Fr. David
I would like to invite everyone to join me in a “Rosary Tea” on December 8th, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. It will take place at Immaculate Conception church in the fellowship hall at 6:30pm. There, surrounded by Christmas lights, we will warm our bodies with tea/coffee and a simple meal and warm our souls with the grace of the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary. Please come to this special “Year of the Rosary” event to celebrate our Faith and our Fellowship with one another. ~ Fr. David
Last week at the parish breakfast $560 was donated to the Worldwide Seminary Support organization. The next breakfast (on December 12th) we will once again donate towards this worthy organization. If you would like to donate directly to the organization apart from the breakfast please speak to Merlyn and Tina Sondag. Thank you so much for you generosity!!! ~ Fr. David
If you say the rosary faithfully until death, I do assure you that, in spite of the gravity of your sins you shall receive a never fading crown of glory.
We did it!!! We were able to give each of the 125 Appalachian children two $20 gift cards for Christmas! We even sent a couple extra gift cards! Thank you so much for you generosity!
This Sunday please join us at Immaculate Conception for another Breakfast after the 9:00am Mass.
This time the proceeds will go towards the Worldwide Seminarian Support organization. This organization was founded in 1993 and funds seminarians all over the world as well as special projects like building seminaries. To date it has funded nearly 70 men to become priests and two of them have become Bishops. 100% of donations go directly to funding seminarians. Vocations are increasing in places like Africa where the US dollar goes a long way. Merlyn and Tina Sondag are presently on the board of the Worldwide Seminarian Support organization and would be happy to share more information with you at the breakfast.
Advent is fast approaching. It is a special season of prayer, penance, and preparation. Please begin thinking about what the Lord might want you to do spiritually during this very important time of the year. ~ Fr. David
The (free) new 2022 liturgical calendars are now available. Each month depicts inspiring art and various promises of Our Blessed Mother to those who pray the rosary. Please pick one up in the narthex of the church.
“When we recite Our Lady’s rosary for a soul in Purgatory, that soul feels that the fires all about it are diminished and it experiences a heavenly relief.”
