“The rosary is a flower garden that contains all kinds of beautiful and aromatic virtues. It is the strongest impulse of the human heart, and those who get hooked on it will improve their habits.”
In times of darkness, holding the Rosary beads is like holding your Blessed Mother’s hand. Pray the Rosary every day, abandon yourself in the Hands of Mary. She will take care of you.
Commend your children to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. When parents pray the Rosary, at the end of each decade they should hold the Rosary aloft and say to her, 'with these beads bind my children to your Immaculate Heart', she will attend to their souls.”
Guided, in fact, by divine inspiration and grace, St. Dominic foresaw that the devotion of the Rosary, like a most powerful warlike weapon, would be the means of putting the enemy to flight, and of confounding their audacity and mad impiety.
When you say your Rosary, the angels rejoice, the Blessed Trinity delights in it, my Son finds joy in it too, and I myself am happier than you can possibly guess. After the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, there is nothing in the Church that I love as much as the Rosary.”
The immense good that this noble devotion of the rosary has done to the world is well known. How any, by its means, have been delivered from sin! How many led to a holy life! How many to a good death, and are now saved!
The family that prays together stays together. The holy rosary, by age-old tradition, has shown itself particularly effective as a prayer which brings the family together. Individual family members, in turning their eyes toward Jesus, also regain the ability to look one another in the eye, to communicate, to show solidarity, to forgive one another and to see their covenant of love renewed in the Spirit of God.
The rosary is the book of the blind, where souls see and there enact the greatest drama of love the world has ever known; it is the book of the simple, which initiates them into mysteries and knowledge more satisfying than the education of other men; it is the book of the aged, whose eyes close upon the shadow of this world and open on the substance of the next.
Holy Spirit, powerful Consoler, sacred Bond of the Father and the Son, Hope of the afflicted, descend into my heart
and establish in it our loving dominion. Enkindle in my tepid soul
the fire of your love so that I may be wholly subject to You.
We believe that when You dwell in us, You also prepare a dwelling
for the Father and the Son. Deign, therefore, to come to me,
Consoler of abandoned souls and Protector of the needy.
Help the afflicted, strengthen the weak, and support the wavering.
Come and purify me. Let no evil desire take possession of me.
You love the humble and resist the proud. Come to me, Glory of the living
and Hope of the dying. Lead me by Your grace
that I may always be pleasing to You.
