The sanctuary at St. Patrick’s is in need of a “face lift” to enhance the beauty of the church. The Year of the Eucharist is an appropriate time for this restoration to bring greater honor and reverence to Jesus, truly present in the Most Blessed Sacrament. To accomplish this, we will need everyone to be as generous as you can be, using the green envelopes marked “Sanctuary Restoration”. The restoration will be done in stages, so gifts need not be all at once. We will begin work once final estimates and the corresponding funds are secured. We would love to have the work completed by next June if possible.
Below is a list of the improvements that we plan to make:
Phase I: **Completed and Paid! ~ Thank you for your generosity and hard work!**
1. Porcelain tile and marble flooring in the Sanctuary/Altar (approx. $19,000)
2. Porcelain tile flooring, new counter tops and paint in the Sacristy (approx. $8,000)
3. Three new stain glass windows, two flanking the Sacristy door and one in the door ($14,900)
Phase II: ($44,000)
4. Marble and wood niches and high altar ($10,000)
5. Refinishing the wooden pews, including new pads ($13,500)
6. Cleaning, priming, and repainting the ceiling tiles ($7,500)
7. New carpet in the church, nartheex and conference room ($12,500)
8. Soundproof and refurbish the interior of confessional ($1,500)
Phase III:
9. New Liturgical Furniture (TBA)
10. Communion Rail (TBA)
Phase I has been completed! We are now ready to begin the next phase of the renovation.
The two niches and the high altar are to be enhanced with beautiful wood and marble. In addition to this, we are refinishing the pews complete with new pads, painting the ceiling tiles and putting new carpet in the nave of the church. This means that we are in need of more money to accomplish these goals. So far we have collected $37,038.00 for Phase II. Most of this has already been spent. Please continue to be as generous as you can be, using the green envelopes marked “Sanctuary Restoration”. Thank you so much for your support!!!
